Job Summary: The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at Mission Community Hospital will work in our Emergency Department (ED) from 7pm-7am and will be responsible for providing basic medical care and transportation to patients in a timely and efficient manner. This is a full-time, individual contributor role in our healthcare/medical department located in Panorama City, California. Responsibilities: - Respond to emergency calls and provide care to patients in need - Assess the nature of each patient's injuries or illness and provide appropriate medical treatment - Administer medication and assist with basic medical procedures - Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals - Safely transport patients to the hospital and provide continuous care during transit - Maintain accurate and thorough records of patient care and any treatments given - Keep medical equipment and supplies clean and stocked - Attend trainings and meetings to maintain and improve knowledge and skills Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent - Current EMT certification in the state of California - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - Minimum of 1 year experience as an EMT, preferably in an emergency department setting - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in emergency situations - Physical ability to lift and move patients and equipment - Valid driver's license and clean driving record - Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays - Must pass a background check and drug screening EEOC Statement: Mission Community Hospital provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
