Job Description Job Description Position Summary: The Upholsterer is responsible for repairing and re-covering all hotel/casino furniture daily. As the Upholster, you will demonstrate and exemplify Jamul Casino Resort’s mission and values by embodying the acronym F.I.R.S.T. (Fun, Integrity, Respect, Service, Team). Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for maintaining knowledge of tailoring, stitching, carpentry. Repairs, upholsters, paint/touch-up on all furniture as needed. Responsible for taking measurements and accurately cutting materials required for furniture upholstery. Maintains cleanliness of workshop and any other areas that need attention. Maintains upholstery equipment to work efficiently. Responsible for ordering all supplies needed within the upholstery field. Complete other related tasks as assigned by housekeeping management. Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. Abide by all company policies and standards that include professional appearance. Ability to plan, organize, and complete work; take initiative logically and independently. Collaborate effectively with other team members. Possess well-developed interpersonal skills Must maintain a consistent pace throughout the shift. Must remain alert throughout the duration of shift and remain calm during emergency situations. Repetitive bending, stooping, or kneeling; climbing, ascending, and descending stairs; maintaining equilibrium for an extended period. Responsible for lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy objects up to 50 lbs. Comfortable in reaching for specific objects at short distances in local working areas. Must be able to work from a standing position and/or walking motion for extended periods of time. Work requires attention to detail and must have visual capabilities needed to inspect their own work upon completion to avoid leaving deficient work. Ability to work in pet friendly areas. Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be at least 21 years of age. 3 years’ experience with upholstery 2 years’ experience in utilizing pneumatic tools, drills, hand-held tools, etc. Must be able to constantly lift up to 50lbs High School Diploma or equivalent Must have flexibility to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate. Must be able to acquire and maintain an appropriate gaming license.
